How I Turned My Struggles Into Purpose
As the year winds down, I am inspired to share something about my journey with you today. Every time I’ve stepped into something big, something new, I’ve felt imposter syndrome creeping in. I built two successful businesses, but when I started both of them, that voice of self-doubt told me I wasn’t good enough, not experienced enough, or not capable enough. But here’s the truth: I’ve learned to push through those feelings and thoughts, and you can too.
Those feelings, those fears, don’t have to hold us back — they can be the very things that propel us forward. We all have an inner voice that often doesn’t tell us the truth. In today’s blog, I’m going to share how my journey of growth, trauma healing, and working with others through anxiety, trauma, and imposter syndrome led me to create my robust self-led program designed to help YOU overcome those same struggles and step into your true potential.
When I transitioned my therapy business to fully self-pay, I seriously undercharged, thinking, “Who would pay me out of pocket when they could use their insurance?” Similarly, when I started my coaching business, I often asked myself, “Who am I to be doing this? Why would people pay this price to see me as a coach when they could use their insurance?” I also thought, “I am a therapist; coaching isn’t ‘professional’ like therapy. Why am I doing this when I should be doing what I went to school for and is a ‘real’ profession?” The truth is, I’ve felt imposter syndrome at every big turn in my life. When I first decided to be solely private pay, as I opened my coaching business, and now, as I sell my self-led program, Thrive More and Stress Less. I felt those fears again and again, wondering if I was qualified enough, good enough, or ready enough to be the one to guide others.
But here’s what I’ve learned along the way: those feelings didn’t mean I wasn’t capable — they meant I was growing and that growth was essential.
The path I’m on today didn’t happen overnight. It’s been a journey shaped by years of personal growth and professional dedication. It’s the result of my own healing process combined with over a decade of guiding individuals who have struggled with anxiety, trauma, and imposter syndrome.
My journey required me to confront some of the most challenging aspects of my own life. I had to face my traumas and unravel the stories I had carried with me for so long. Narratives that, without realizing it, shaped my sense of self and held me back in many areas of my life. I confronted fears that felt paralyzing at times and wrestled with limiting beliefs that whispered I wasn’t good enough, smart enough, or capable enough to create the life I wanted.
But I refused to stay stuck in those beliefs. Through intentional, ongoing work, I learned to challenge and rewrite them, replacing self-doubt with self-compassion, fear with courage, and uncertainty with clarity. I transformed those limiting beliefs into empowering truths that now fuel my growth and confidence.
Today, I use the lessons I’ve learned and the tools I’ve developed to help others break free from their own limiting beliefs. I guide them in uncovering their inner strength, rewriting the narratives that no longer serve them, and stepping into a more empowered and authentic version of themselves. It’s profoundly gratifying work and a testament to the power of healing and transformation.
I often tell my clients that healing isn’t linear, and neither is growth. There’s no perfect moment when everything falls into place. But I can tell you that as I’ve walked this path of healing, I’ve become more grounded in my purpose. And that purpose is simple: “I am a trauma and anxiety expert helping you manage stress using personalized self-help and mind-body techniques.”
That’s what I believe in at my core. I genuinely believe my mission in life is to guide people struggling with anxiety, trauma, and imposter syndrome toward emotional freedom by helping them get unstuck so they can act with intention instead of from a place of fear and doubt and cultivate peace in their own lives. This firmly held belief is at the heart of my self-led program, Thrive More, Stress Less, a program designed to help you manage anxiety, work through trauma, overcome imposter syndrome, and heal from the inside out — just as I’ve done myself.
